SOMATIC SKINCARE
DELIVERED TO YOU
Jax & Jupiter is a private, in-home facial practice centered on intentional skin care and restorative touch.
Each 75-minute session begins with a thorough, barrier-respecting cleanse and unfolds through several modalities including lymphatic drainage, facial massage, gua sha, facial reflexology and Reiki. The treatment is shaped by what the skin and underlying tissues need that day: movement, nourishment, release and or rest.
Sessions are offered by referral or invitation in New Jersey and New York City.
The Philosophy
Rather than treating skin as an isolated surface, Jax and Jupiter is rooted in the belief that what happens within us is reflected outward. The skin responds to the conditions it lives within, much like we do. So I created this practice around the same principles that I believe shape our lives: the need for movement, nourishment, rest, connection, energy and attention. When these things are cared for, we create better conditions for balance, both within ourselves and in what we see reflected back to us. -
The lymphatic system is part of the body’s natural fluid and immune network, moving lymph through tissues and helping carry away cellular waste. Manual lymphatic drainage is incorporated throughout the treatment using slow, rhythmic touch to support the natural movement of lymph and fluid through the tissues. MLD allows us to give attention to areas that feel puffy, congested or stagnant and helps to create a more fluid environment for the skin.
-
Fascia is the connective tissue network beneath the skin, intertwined with nerves, blood vessels and lymphatic vessels. I work from the belief that our tissues can carry the imprint of stress, trauma and lived experience. The fascial work done in your session is an invitation for release tending to the environment the skin is actually living on.
-
The nervous system is one of the body’s main communication networks, constantly receiving information and sending signals between the brain, skin, muscles and organs. Stress can show up in the skin through inflammation, sensitivity, changes in barrier function and slower healing. In this session we get an opportunity to step out of constant stimulation and create space for the nervous system to rest.
-
The skin is a living barrier that needs water, lipids, protection and the right nutrients to function well. Rather than constantly burdening the skin to correct, exfoliate or renew, this treatment also focuses on identifying what may be missing and replenishing it so that we are supporting the barrier and the skin can do what it knows how to.
-
The observer effect reminds us that observation is not always passive. In physics, the act of measuring a system can alter what is being measured. I bring that same respect for attention into my practice, staying present with the body and allowing what I notice to guide the treatment.

Reiki is a Japanese energy healing practice based on the belief that energy flows through the body and can be supported through the hands. As a Level II Reiki practitioner, I incorporate Reiki throughout the treatment using hands-on and hands-off energy work, bringing care to the energetic body alongside the physical.
